Olavson: headless Shopify with custom cookware bundles

Olavson needed more control over its cookware shopping experience, content and custom purchase flows. We developed a headless Shopify storefront with Gatsby and Sanity, connected to the brand’s account, loyalty and marketing tools.
The delivery included more than 35 reusable React components and a custom bundle-building experience, alongside account access and loyalty integrations.

Headless Shopify architecture
Separated the Gatsby storefront from Shopify commerce and used Sanity for structured content.
Customer account experience
Built account views for order history, shipping information and customer details.

Created more than 35 modular interface components to support consistent page construction and future development.

Synchronized product, inventory and order information between Shopify and the storefront.

Connected LoyaltyLion and Klaviyo to the custom experience so loyalty and marketing workflows could operate alongside the storefront.

Built a guided set-building experience with variant constraints, pricing feedback and commerce-side discount logic.
Designing around the project’s actual constraints
The existing implementation constrained Olavson’s content and purchase-flow requirements. Headless gave the team separate control over the interface and a way to build the required bundle, account and loyalty experiences.
LoyaltyLion and Klaviyo also integrate with native Shopify. The work here was to connect those services to Olavson’s particular custom storefront, not to unlock integrations that Shopify cannot support. A guided bundle experience connected to commerce
The bundle builder lets customers combine eligible cookware products while seeing pricing and selection feedback. Variant rules and quantity constraints guide the choice, while Shopify Functions handle the discount logic on the commerce side.
